Then came the sound of my violin\u2019s four strings, then the new technology sounds, discovered during adolescence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Originally there is sound and movement. The movement of the bow, which gave me the sense of musical phrasing, the conductor\u2019s arm, and even more his hands and full body movements. Gestures that shape and sculpt sound material, transmitting and combining energies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And within the achievement of this extraordinary, sound absorbing experience, comes the act of composing, of giving a meaning to the sound.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The marvel of musical writing shapes time through the silence of thoughts, imagination, and technical sophistication. It elaborates astonishing sound universes developing a powerful, wordless language filled with emotion and metaphoric, captivating strength.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If composing is an art (in my view, the most complicated art as well as poetry), listening is a knowledge. It\u2019s not a technical knowledge but a predisposition. It allows the public to grow an active, concentrated listening, able to discern the fundamental dimensions of the music and deeply perceive it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That is why, beyond the activities of composing, conducting, teaching and leading a musical ensemble, I have also been a mediator. I am convinced that musical creation has no bounders, and each one of us is able to find his own listening key to the music. TM + Ensemble\u2019s 25-year-old in-residence activities in Nanterre strongly confirm my confidence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Masters of the past, engraved in my childhood, as well as those who shaped the 20th century extraordinary musical adventure, formed my musical being. A century that achieved its Copernican Revolution. The various avant-gardes left us in heritage a both renewed and rooted in history musical language, \u00a0from polyphonic technics to\u00a0 digital tools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I make it a point in maintaining the close dialogue I preserve with the composers of the past and present, with numerous interpreters, and in particular TM+ interpreters. Celui de l\u2019archet qui m\u2019a donn\u00e9 mon sens du phras\u00e9, du bras du chef d\u2019orchestre et plus encore, des mains, du corps tout entier qui fa\u00e7onnent, sculptent la mati\u00e8re sonore, transmettent et f\u00e9d\u00e8rent l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Et dans l\u2019accomplissement de cette exp\u00e9rience sensible hors norme, il y a l\u2019acte de composer, de donner du sens au son.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il y a le prodige de l\u2019\u00e9criture musicale qui dans le silence de la pens\u00e9e, de l\u2019imagination mais aussi par sa sophistication technique, mod\u00e8le le temps, \u00e9labore des univers sonores inou\u00efs, d\u00e9veloppe un langage sans paroles dont la puissance m\u00e9taphorique d\u00e9place, saisit, transperce d\u2019\u00e9motion.<br \/>Si composer est un art (\u00e0 mes yeux le plus complexe avec la po\u00e9sie), \u00e9couter est un savoir. Non pas un savoir technique, mais une pr\u00e9disposition qui permet \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute d\u2019\u00eatre active, concentr\u00e9e, en mesure de discerner, de go\u00fbter pleinement les dimensions fondamentales de l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u00e9couverte. De ne pas rester \u00ab\u00a0en surface\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C\u2019est pourquoi \u00e0 mes activit\u00e9s de compositeur, de chef d\u2019orchestre, de professeur, de directeur musical d\u2019un ensemble j\u2019y ai toujours associ\u00e9 celui de m\u00e9diateur, convaincu qu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas de territoires r\u00e9serv\u00e9s \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation musicale, et que tout un chacun est en mesure de se saisir des \u00ab\u00a0clefs d\u2019\u00e9coute\u00a0\u00bb qu\u2019on lui tend.
